Derek was so awesome during our travels. He loved being able to open and close his window he thought it was pretty cool, especially since he gets in trouble when he touches our windows at home. We had been "training" him to watch his little DVD player with his headphones in. That is a little harder than it sounds with a two year old but he did it, and it worked. he was so mesmorized by his movie and his pretzels that while he was awake he was a perfect little boy. He loved take off and landing because as he put it "we go fast." 
Luckily he slept a lot on both legs of the trip and well that is the best way for a child to be on an airplane, and know just in case you were thinking about it, we didn't drug him.
