First Tooth

Is this really happening, Derek lost his first tooth the end of November only to be followed by a 2nd tooth about 3 weeks later.  He told me his tooth was loose and then a day later it came out.  It is events like these that make you realize how old your kids really are. 

Being one of the guys

This year Derek was big enough to go with all the rest of the boys shooting.  He went shooting with all his Uncles and Papa.  Derek has laid claim to Corey's BB gun but this trip he found a new love. 

Remember our pumpkin we carved?  Well this is what it turned out to look like.

then it was time to put up the lights for Christmas, and well Derek was excited to get up on the roof and help his Dad.  Corey had him tied off to him, so that made me feel a little better but really I just had to not look. 

Goofy

Derek loves to help take care of his little brother and he loves to play with him.  Many times too much.  But Derek just had to have Jake drive in the "Box Car" that he had done.  Luckily everyone was smiling.

Halloween

For Halloween this year, Derek was a firefighter and he was so exited because his costume looked so much like his Dad's gear. 

Derek's little hands were perfect for cleaning out the pumpkin.

Pretty Similar

Jake was a bunny and pretty cute one at that. 

Jake just followed along and was happy to watch everyone.  Luckily it wasn't a really cold night and Derek loved going door to door to trick r treat.  In our old neighborhood everyone lived really far apart so we had a trunk r treat instead which is great for parents but not as fun for the kids.  Corey and Derek were out for several hours Jake and I went back to had out candy to the kids. 

Derek is organizing his loot.  He got to pick 5 things to keep and then he left the rest for the Halloween Witch who came and left him a toy but took the Candy.  I love the halloween witch

Dance Day

While I was in the previously mentioned cast Derek had a Dance day.  Corey came home from work early and help me get there so that we could be there for Derek.  He had lots of fun, and thought he was pretty hot stuff.  I still have no idea what the song was that they danced too. 

Family Pictures

So the day after my surgery my side of the Family did Family Pictures.  Yes, I am high on pain killers but hey I took one for the team.  Actually they turned out pretty good and to get all us smiling is a pretty big feet.  Thank you Jamey Norris you did an amazing job. 

Surgery

So this year I finally decided to get the surgery done on my foot that I needed.  A couple of years ago I broke my foot and there was a bone spur that had fussed itself on top of one of my joint in my foot.  This made is painful much of the time to walk for long periods of time and even then I almost always walked with a foot.  Since the insurance was already maxed out with the birth of Jake we decided to seize upon that opportunity.  We spent Two weeks in this terrible cast and another 2 weeks in a book.  I was definitely not the happiest person in the world for a month as I couldn't really do anything, and it was hard to take care of my family and responsibility with the house.  Corey was amazing and just babied me and well I just have to say thank you.  There were so many people who helped with getting Derek to and from school and helping out.  I was really bored and onry but now it is fixed and I walk much better. Now it is exercise time!

Corey's Hunting trip

Corey has found that hunting out here in Utah is way different than the hunting he grew up with back home in Georgia.  There you sit in a tree stand and wait for them to walk past.  In Utah to hike all over the Mountains trying to track one.  One of our dear friends Riley, decided that he would take Corey on his first Hunting trip.  Now just about 2 months earlier Corey had to have an emergency appendectomy and well the hiking all over the mountain was a little harder than he thought.  They did do some great fishing but boy was he tired when he got home.  It rained on them most of the time and it wasn't as fun as I think he had hoped but oh well.   I think he is just going to stick to fishing from now on.
