What a weekend

What an incredible yet exhausting weekend. We blessed our sweet Derek and yes he was sweet. Corey and I were a little nervous because about the time we were ready to leave for church he was still wide awake which probably meant that he would be awake during the blessing, which could mean that he would scream during the whole thing. A mothers worst nightmare right? Well luckily on or short little drive to the church, all 2 blocks, he fell asleep and stayed that way until they said Amen for the blesssing.

The blessing was amazing however I don't really have a whole lot of pictures right now, because they are all on my Dad's camera so most pictures will come during a later post.
This picture is of one of my good friends from my mission Elder Clark and his wife served in Tifton GA while I was there and I became very close with them, unfortunately Sis. Clark Passed away 2 years ago but i still stay in touch with Elder Clark. I was so honored that he would come all the way down from Idaho for the blessing and the sealing.
This weekend also Carol and Joe were sealed in the temple and Corey and I were honored to be there escorts. It brought back so many memories of our wedding day. As we were getting carol ready in the Brides room (the exact room where I got ready) I had many flashback memories of my mom helping me get ready and how excited I was. Being married to Corey has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. Carol and Joe were taught a lot of things, during there sealing and many of them I can use in my marriage as well. It was a small sealing only about 8 people total so it was a real intimate setting.

Grandmother has been able to see some things that she never has before. We took her to Salt Lake on Friday where she got to see the Tabernacle, SLC Temple, Conference Center and the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was fun to see her get excited about these things and that she finally got a chance to see it all. What a special event in her life as well.

Following the crowd

Look at what i have done, i have started a blog and now Corey's whole family is bloggers (Sarah Doesn't count apparently she has been doing this for a while now). This is so fun yet just makes me laugh to see what happens and how we can easily become followers of the crowd. Not that blogging is bad but how just in life we can do this.

By the way for everybody who wants to know grandmother, and carol and Joe are here in utah safe and sound delays and all but I will let them tell you about that.

My favorite picture

my sister took this picture while she was watching him, this really shows his personality. Isn't he cute!!!

So I have been back to work for a week now and honestly it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The first day I had a hard time leaving him, but once I got to work I did just fine. For those of you who don't know I work for Shelf Reliance (they build food rotation systems) doing Customer Service. We are almost always really busy, so that makes it better because I'm not so bored. However, I feel really lucky this company hired me knowing full well that I would be going on maternity leave 6 weeks later, and they still gave me a chance. I work with some really neat people and honestly have fun. Ally has been super great about watching Derek and has even had some rough days, but she is always so sweet with Derek and we are lucky to have her. My mom can't seem to get enough of Derek I know this will end some day I'm sure but right now it is actually pretty funny to see her fight with anybody to hold Derek.

It was so neat to watch conference and get to see our new prophet for the first time in his prophetic responsibilities. This was not the first Solemn Assembly that I had participated in, but this was the first time that I think I understood truly what was going on. I'm always amazed (I don't really know why though) at how the church is so organized and set up. Another testament to prove that the Lord is truly in charge of the church, not man.

Corey once again survived another week of school, actually he loves school. He always has a lot of work to do but I'm pretty sure that he enjoys it. He has done very well and always scores really well on his exams.

We are preparing for the arrival of Corey's parents and Grandmother. They are coming out for Derek’s blessing which will take place this Sunday. I'm so excited but it seems weird to think that this is actually happening. Corey's Mom and Stepdad are also having a big day they are getting sealed. They chose to get sealed in the same temple that Corey and I were sealed in; it will be a great yet busy weekend. This will be Grandmother's first trip to Utah so we will probably be doing the touristy thing at least a little bit.
