Derek loves to swim

Derek loves to swim so this weekend we went with Cedar and Annistyn to the new Lindon City pool. We had so much fun and luckily for us it wasn't crowded however it was warm. Derek didn't get sunburned but Corey and I did. Last time I went swimming it was about 10 degrees hotter and somehow we forgot to bring the sunscreen for Corey and I so we just used Derek's. Well this time we remembered and well it didn't work very well. We have decided that we will from now on use the baby sunscreen it works better, Corey and I are fried. Well I guess you live and learn.






derek absolutely loved going down the slide with his Daddy. He is becoming a little bit of a daredevil, which could be really bad since Corey is his Daddy.

this weekend

This weekend was so much fun for us. Corey had school this week and passed with flying colors So now he is considered a third year!!! Only three more years to go until he is graduated! I'm so proud of him he did so well.

When Corey has school that normally means that he will get home from school early. I had Friday off from work and so we had decided to have a few swimming adventures with Derek. On Friday my sister Cedar and her daughter Annistyn came over and we set up a little pool and they had a ball. I think honestly Derek had so much fun he just loves the water.

So on Saturday we tried something new for him we took him to the public pool. They had a darling little play area. and Derek had a blast I love these new little swim shirts for boys. He still gets to get out and play but i don't have to layer so much sunscreen on him and he still not getting burnt. I would definitely recommend them.

This is Derek's Georgia Bulldogs outfit that he has finally grown into and man is he cute he is also showing off his new Elmo Doll. He loves Elmo and will come running whenever he hears the Elmo's World song. I love Elmo too.

Derek loves books but more importantly he loves to take them all out of the bookshelf at once!

Happy Fourth of July

How did we spend the fourth of July you ask? Well quite quietly and honestly I enjoyed it. Corey's parent's were here for the weekend and we had all of these great plans but Derek kind of put a wrench in them see that weekend he was working tirelessly to cut a few molars and he was just not a happy person most of the weekend. He was running a fever and just as cranky as good be. On the Fourth of July he started doing better but his exhausted parents were a little Leary so we ended up spending most of the day just at the house. Corey cut the grass which he loves doing by the way, and we had us a little BBQ. We made hamburgers and hot dogs and had fruit and potato salad wasn't to bad if you ask me. Derek loves to jump on the Trampoline and Corey loves the fact that the neighbor lets him borrow his riding John Deere lawn mower. Remember nothing runs like a Deere. Don't worry the night before we did some little fireworks with our neighbors right in front of the house and we had a blast.

Earlier in the day though we took Carol and Joe to one of our favorite Southern style BBQ places and man of man was it good. Some of the best ribs and beef brisket I've ever tasted. We all went home and were full for a long time. These pictures are of Derek I didn't take any of anybody else because well nobody needs to see pictures of us just stuffing our faces. You might start to think bad of us.

One of Derek new favorite things to do is to wrestle this Eeyore Doll. This used to be Corey's when he was younger and now it is his and he loves to attack it.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Yesterday we were able to take Carol and Joe who were down for a visit to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. This Temple is the 4th temple in Salt Lake Valley and the 2nd temple in West Jordan. This temple was so beautiful and it was so neat to be able to go through all the rooms and see the whole temple at one time. For any of you that live around here definitely need to go and see. There is such a spirit that is there. Happy Fourth of July and hope you all have a great day.
