Christmas Lights

We had so much going and seeing the lights at Temple Square and of course that correlates with eating at Crown Burger.  Emmy did much better than we could have hoped for. #prestonfamilyoffive #lighttheworld @georgiapyro

4 generations And November birthdays

We celebrated my moms and grandma Ann's birthday on Sunday and was able to snap this four generation pick.  So lucky to have these amazing women in my life.
Emmy sure loves her great grandma.

Grandma Ann with her great grandkids.

Halloween

This year we went to the BYU football teams trunk-r-treat.  We had so much fun and the kids got so much candy.  Plus meeting Kulani Sitake and Ty Detmer was a big plus!  Go Cougs
Derek was a painter, Jake was a green dragon, and Emmy was a lady bug.  We met some of the cousins for this adventure and everybody had fun.

Derek's first late night.

In October Corey went to Wyoming to help his mom move.  So with Jake gone it seemed like a perfect time for Derek to have his first late night.  They had so much fun making their own pizzas watching Halloween movies, playing the operation game, and playing pie face!

3 months

I can hardly believe this sweetheart is 3 months old.  She has stolen the heart of everyone she meets.  She has an amazing smile and is a little bit of a mamas girl.  She still doesn't nap well but most of the time sleeps through the night. She loves her brothers but she gets super excited when Derek is around.  Jake calls her his baby girl.  She is starting to coo a little and figuring out her voice.  She loves looking at colorful things and sitting in her Bumbo so she can watch the world around her.  She still hates the car seat so we don't go very far.  She loves to be held and likes her binky to help her go to sleep. She has just barely gotten into her 3-6 month clothes and she most definitely is the most petite out of the Preston kids. I couldn't imagine our lives without her.  She definitely completes us! #emmalynngrace #prestonfamilyof5 #threemonthsgonetofast

2 months old

This little princess is two months old and had her check-up.
Weight  11 lbs 14 oz 70%
Height 22.25 in. 45%
Head 14.75 in 31%
She sleeps through the night most days. Hates to nap in her bed only in somebody's arms but still not for very long.  She loves to be held or strapped to her mom.  She doesn't take a bottle well, so it's hard to leave her for very long. She loves to be held by anyone. She is loved by her brothers and Jake informs everyone that this is his baby sister.  She hates her car seat so we don't go very many places.  She is the light in our family and we're lucky to have her!🎀👑 #emmalynn #prestonfamilyof5

Soccer Season

Derek's soccer team this year went undefeated and played so well together.  They were fun to watch and even more fun to win the championship game!  We love all their hard work. ⚽️🏆

General conference Fun

General Conference weekend Corey was working so it was me all by myself.  So in between sessions on Sunday we went on a walk to try to get out a few wiggles.

To encourage Derek to listen to the speakers, I encouraged him to do a Lego scene that had something to do about what they were speaking about.  He loved it and I know he listened better than he ever has.

Emmys Blessing

This sweetheart of mine was blessed today.  Emmy was given a beautiful blessing by her dad.  Was wearing the same dress that I (her mom), her papa hatch and her great grandpa Hatch were all blessed in.  We have figured that this dress is at least 98 years old.  She was also wearing rings that her great grandma Emmy had when she was a baby.  It was a very sentimental day for the hatch family.  We were surrounded by wonderful family and friends. This little girl has stolen our hearts and are so happy to have her in our family.
Here is the transcript of her blessing:
We would like to give this baby a blessing and a name.  The name she will be known as is Emmalyn Grace Preston.  We would like to give you blessing that you may find yourself surrounded by love from  Family and friends.  We bless you that you may have the opportunity to know your Heavenly  Father loves you.  Find yourself with the covenant of baptism and the gift of the holy ghost.  We bless that you may find yourself to be a YW and learn from your mother and grandmothers.  Bless you that you may find a nice young men to love and take you to temple.  Bless you that you will know who you should teach and have the opportunity  to know God and have him with you when you need him and have His thoughts with you always and be thankful for that gift.  Bless you that you have good health and experience no health problems in your life.  Bless that your brain and thoughts are ones others look up
to, academically  as well and spiritually.  Find those who need you.  Be the best person you can be.  We would like to bless you with these words and any other blessings Heavenly Father feels fit to bless you with at this time.  And we say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Better pictures to come later. @georgiapyro #emmalynngrace #blessingday

September 11th

I have people ask me all the time how I can let my husband be a firefighter. "Aren't you worried he will get hurt or worse die" The answer is always no.  Yes, I do worry for his safety but I worry for all the first responders safety.  We currently live in a country where these people are vilified instead of praised for their bravery.  There will always be a few bad apples but we have those in every profession.  But if you know a first responder you know most of all We trust the brotherhood.  These man stand together for those they don't know; protect and serve those who might wish harm to them; and work together for the better of their communities.  I'm so proud of my firefighter and husband he is my true hero.
We will never forget where we were and what happened on this day 15 years ago, but most importantly we can't forget how we felt on this day. We must teach our children what happened and how those first responders gave their lives trying to help those they didn't know.
God bless the USA heaven knows our country needs all the blessings we can get. #911 #neverforget #firefighter #firstresponders #343 #santaquinfirestation @georgiapyro

Derek's first day of school.

Derek started school the day after we came home from the hospital with Emmy so I didn't attend and I was so bummed.  Daddy and grandma Carol took him though and he couldn't wait to go.  This year he has Mrs. Olson. He's so excited to be the big third grade.

Jakes going to Preschool

Jake started preschool this fall and has loved every minute of it.  Miss Betsy has helped him so much with learning about following the rules, and waiting our turn!
