Somehow this year even though we did a much smaller Christmas than years past it still felt like these kids made out like bandits. Jake got a Tonka Truck just like his older brothers, that way he could quit stealing his brothers. He also received a ball that Derek made sure to ask Santa for him (Jake still can't talk), and a car track. Derek got a hot wheels track, a marble Kinect set that was way bigger and more complicated than I think Santa thought. It eventually took Derek and Daddy several days to put together. The last thing that Derek wanted was a new Thomas track but this one had to have a tunnel and lots of loopty loos. Yes, that is exactly what he said to Santa. Derek has had a renewed interest in Thomas the Train as his brother has shown interest in them too. Now, he likes to build tracks that both him and his brother can play with. He really is such a good brother.
Jake started to get excited about Christmas this year, and was intrigued by why Derek was running down the hallway, so he started running too.
Derek was really fun with Santa this year, he had to put out cookies, the reindeer food, and everything else that goes along with Santa. It was really a fun year, and I absolutely loved watching the pure joy on his face.
And of course it snowed Christmas Eve night so there was lots of shoveling required for Corey Christmas morning. But it made Christmas even that more magical!
